Parks & Recreation

Welcome to Nederland Parks & Recreation!

The City of Nederland Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing fun, engaging recreational opportunities and quality facilities for our community. Throughout the year, we host a variety of special events, including the 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza, National Night Out, Christmas on the Avenue, and many more!

Our department maintains and operates community amenities such as playgrounds, walking paths, a swimming pool, a softball field, tennis courts, outdoor pickleball courts, an indoor basketball court, and a game room. We also offer facilities available for private rentals. Whether you're looking to enjoy the outdoors, participate in recreational activities, or attend a community event, there's something for everyone!

We invite you to explore all that Nederland Parks & Recreation has to offer and come join in the fun!

Department Overview

The Nederland Parks & Recreation Department oversees six city parks, the Nederland Swimming Pool, and the Nederland Recreation Center. In addition to maintaining these facilities, our department coordinates special events and recreational programs throughout the year, bringing residents together through fun, family-friendly activities and community celebrations.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

Established in 2009, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board consists of five appointed citizen members who provide recommendations and guidance to the department. The board meets quarterly on the second Wednesday of the month at the Nederland Recreation Center, located at 2301 Avenue H. Meetings are open to the public, and community members are welcome to attend.
