The Inspection Department is committed to meeting the challenges facing the public and the construction industry. All measures are being taken to offer the citizens of Nederland the most efficient service possible while maintaining a cost-effective profile within the city function. The department provides a service to protect its citizens through effective utilization of the Building Code Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance and Floodplain Ordinance. Through these ordinances, adopted Codes, and enforcement the Inspection Department guides development to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of Nederland’s neighborhoods and overall community by providing a reasonable degree of public safety in all buildings and property within the City of Nederland. The Inspection Department is dedicated to providing information that is aimed at protecting the public’s life, health and welfare in the building environment.
