Nederland Post Office Relocation Project Update

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced plans to relocate the Nederland Post Office to a new facility located at 1031 Nederland Avenue, within the Exygon Shopping Center adjacent to El Refu Restaurant.

According to USPS representatives, the site was selected based on several factors, including:

• Increased parking availability for customers;
• A secure, fenced area for postal vehicle operations; and
• Additional building space, with approximately 8,800 square feet compared to the current facility's 6,700 square feet.

Tentative Project Timeline

Please note that all dates provided by USPS are preliminary and subject to change.

• July 2026 – Property delivery to USPS.
• August 2026 through Spring 2027 – Construction and facility improvements.
• Estimated Opening – Between February and May 2027.

USPS has indicated that postal operations will continue at the current Nederland Post Office location until construction is complete and all services have been transferred to the new facility.
