Planning and Zoning Commission is a five member commission that recommends to the City Council on items such as:
  • Creation of new laws that affect the zoning ordinance.
  • Re-zoning request.
  • Specific Use Permit request
  • New subdivision plats
  • Replat request (Only if all City Ordinances are in compliance, the Building Official
  • may approve amending plats and replats creating four or fewer lots)
Zoning Board of Appeals is a five member board that makes a final decision on items such as:
  • To hear and decide appeals where it its alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Building Official.
  • To hear and decide variance requests where strict application of the regulations will result in unnecessary hardship to the individual. (The individual shall make a written statement verifying the hardship)
  • Act as the Manufactured Home Park Board of Appeals to hear hardship cases inside the park.
  • Act as the Board of Appeals to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Building Official while enforcing the regulations of the 2009 International Property Maintenance Code.
Construction Board of Appeals is an eight member board that makes a final decision on items such as:
  • Demolition of all main buildings
