We are aware that a safe community is the product of cooperation between citizens and their local police. I am pleased to say that the Nederland Police Department has a close working relationship with the citizens we serve. The Nederland Police Department participates in various community-based programs involving the Nederland Chamber of Commerce, the Nederland Heritage Festival and various other civic organizations.
Our department employs 28 full time Peace Officers. There are also 11 Telecommunications Operators, 1 Administrative Secretary, 1 Police Clerk, 1 Court Administrator, 1 Assistant Court Administrator, 7 part time School Crossing Guards, 1 reserve School Crossing Guards.
