TRAILER PARK BOARD OF APPEALS MINUTES

5:15 p.m. January 23, 2007
  1. MEETING

    The meeting was held April 24, 2007, at the City of Nederland D. Bob Henson Office Building, 1903 Atlanta, Nederland, Texas and was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Guy Barlow.

    MEMBERS PRESENT: Guy Barlow, Barney Green, Bill Cummins, Kenneth Whigham, and Mickey Fenn
    CITY STAFF PRESENT: Rod Hatch, Chief Building Official and Beth Merren, Inspections Department Secretary
    OTHERS PRESENT: James Shahan
  2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

    A motion was made by Bill Cummins and seconded by Barney Green to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2007 meeting. All voted aye.

  3. VARIANCES

    James E. Boudreaux, owner of the property located at 3603 Avenue B, described as Lot 8 and 33' of Lot 9, Block 3, Airport 1 Addition, requested a two month variance for his son to live in a motor home on his property while he repairs damages caused by Hurricane Rita. Mr. Boudreaux did not appear at the meeting. After a full discussion a motion was made by Bill Cummins and seconded by Barney Green to deny the variance. Guy Barlow, Bill Cummins and Barney Green voted to deny the variance. Kenneth Whigham appeared at the meeting at 5:05 p.m. after the vote was recorded.

    Mark and Belinda Osborne, owners of the property located at 147 Detroit Avenue, described as Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 2, Staffen Addition, requested a six month extension to live in a travel trailer while they rebuild their house. After a full discussion a motion was made by Kenneth Whigham and seconded by Barney Green to grant an extension until October 31, 2007. All voted aye.

  4. COMMUNICATIONS

    Board members scheduled a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting for Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at 5:00 p.m., to review and consider action approving a variance for Mr. William Beasley, owner of the property located at 704 N. 23rd Street, described as Lot 21, Block 2, Nederland Terrance Addition. This is a medical hardship request.

  5. ADJOURN

    There being no other business a motion was made by Kenneth Whigham and seconded by Barney Green to adjourn the meeting at 5:15 p.m. All voted aye.
